The Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd (commonly known as the Good Shepherd Sisters) is an international Catholic congregation founded in 1835. Present in 72 countries, over 5 continents, the GSS have the status of an international ECOSOC recognized NGO. Working in Lebanon since 1893 and in Syria since 1981 the GSS and their lay partners have been providing support to vulnerable and marginalized WOMEN, FAMILIES AND CHILDREN.
They offer their help through holistic programs of education, shelter, training, health services, professional psychological in strategic locations in Lebanon and Syria. Since the beginning of the war in Syria, and the constant arrival of refugees in Lebanon, the GSS have contributed to their integration in host communities by implementing educational projects and activities that promote social cohesion.
The Sisters provide their assistance without discrimination of race, gender or religion.
